Story Title: Airavata Maharaj ki Jai
With a philosophy of finding happiness in little things, I try to bring the same flavour to my stories and poems. My writing is a reflection of everyday life, sometimes crisp, on others jaded. The genesis of ‘Airavata Maharaj ki Jai’ is also a simple episode in the life of my husband that I sprinkled with a little adventure and fun. I like to delve deep into my characters and although my plots are simple, everyday events that leave a trail of memories behind, I make sure that my characters stand out. The story is set in the 1980s. A family of seven (five children and their parents) leaves home for a picnic to the temple on the top of the hill. But a series of (mis)adventures take place along the way. Do they reach their desired picnic spot? What happens when the father realizes that he no longer possesses the energy of his young days, to climb uphill. How does he save the day for himself? Read the story to find out for yourself and do let me know who your favourite character is!
