The month of April is sacrosanct for the blogging community, world over. It is the month of the coveted #AtoZ Challenge in which bloggers gear up to write a post a day (except on Sundays) all through April. Each post is titled or has a theme corresponding to an alphabet of the English language (not mandatory though).
I participated in A to Z for the first time in 2019, in which I adhered to no particular theme. It was my foray into the world of blogging and it was then that I made my first few friends in the blogging world.
In the year 2020, I wrote twenty-six poems rooted in history, which I later compiled in the form of an eBook titled, ‘Unlocked’. I removed the book from all platforms later and am looking at bringing it in a new avatar now. (You can read the ‘Theme Reveal’ post from that year here).
In 2021, I gave A to Z a miss. I dedicated the year to learning about submissions to lit magazines and sending my work for other prestigious projects. My main focus was poetry, but I did send in a few stories as well, some of which were published in both paperback and eBook format.
This year, once again, I am back for the A to Z Blogging Challenge, but there’s going to be a slight twist to my April writing. With my eye on lit magazines once again, I have taken the plunge into NaPoWriMo for the first time. The National Poetry Writing Month is held every year in April. Poets, world over, pen a-poem-a-day which is based on prompts (not mandatory). This gives us thirty poems by the end of the month, a decent repertoire to further experiment with. Also, a great time to engage with the poetry community and flex some writing muscles. The idea is to club both A to Z and NaPoWriMo in 2022. Hence, my theme for the A to Z Challenge, 2022 is Poetry- free flowing; reflecting the outward calm of the ocean along with its underlying trepidations; some days lazy, stretching endlessly on a sun-soaked Sunday; and on others brimming with energy. I look forward to this month of learning and experimenting with my favourite genre.
So friends, I will be keeping busy all of April, not just writing but also engaging at three levels. Here you go,
*I’m participating in #BlogchatterA2Z 2022

* I’m participating in the International A to Z Challenge 2022 (The tribute badge is in memory of Jeremy, the great graphic artist of the challenge who passed away this year). There is also a lovely theme, which I may try to address in one of my poems- ACCOMPLISHING YOUR DREAMS, AND THE DUALITY OF 22

*I’m participating in NaPoWriMo 2022

Phew! Am I biting more than I can chew? We’ll see. I do hope this theme reveal has been able to excite you and if you’re a poetry lover like me, let us meet all of April, right here. I always make sure to visit you back. You never know, a little challenge can sometimes turn into a life-long friendship of poets/writers. And how I love that!
Looking forward to your company in this month-long journey. If you’re participating in any of the above challenges, do drop the link to your theme reveal or your blog and I will visit you right away!

You and I became friends through A to Z! I had no bandwidth to participate this year with my freelance journalism career picking up… And honestly, the month was so hectic on the work front, I didn’t even get time to read these posts from March, let alone any of the A to Z ones… I’m sure you aced it as always… And now that I have some time, I will check out some of your poems too.
